Plague Torpedoes can be added for an additional 10pts/strength of torpedoes*.
Plague Torpedos: These torpedoes work just like normal torpedoes but for every hit inflicted roll a D6, on a roll of 1 the ship becomes infected by a Plague of Nurgle. Once the ship is infected roll a D6 every turn following the initial infection, on a roll of 1, part of the crew becomes ill/dies. The ship takes 1 hit and is 1 (cumulative) to boarding actions vs plague marines of nurgle. The infected ship can make a leadership roll every turn before rolling damage, if the infected ship passes a leadership test, the crew has been able to contain the affected areas and the ship no longer has to roll for infection, but the boarding disadvantages and hits remain. NOTE: non-nurgle ships attempting to board can become infected on a D6 roll of 1 and do not benefit from the cumulative negative plague modifiers.
*These weapons can only be used by a ship in a fleet containing a Warmaster/Lord of Nurgle or on ships bearing the mark of Nurgle. Only chaotic followers of the Dark God of Pestilence have the knowledge and facilities to infuse the torpedoes with the necessary diseases.
