The Dark Nebula, celestial phenomena GS-Lys-1123-Ak-neb, has long been a haven for pirates.  It is a large cloud of gas and dust, with interspersed natural debris fields and asteriod fields of immense size.  It theorized that the Dark Nebula was a proto-system that never took.  It wraps it's wispy tendrils around the Bladen system off to the southern most part of the sub-sector.  It's northern most edge engulfs the warp conduit that runs between Bladen and Schindelgeist.  It has long been a place of pirates, with many of the Eldar Corsair groups operating out of the Nebula to prey upon Imperial shipping.  It still remains a stronghold of Eldar presence in the sub-sector and many suspect multiple Eldar bases, and some rumor a craftworld (unconfirmed).  Recently Orks have tried to establish a foothold in the region and the number of Ork Pirate sightings have started to increase in the last few years.
